Yes But Nau - More Videos (of 2006 !)

The second one I already posted a few months (or even years ?) ago but I still like it :)
Keep on reading, I'm in the mood for posting some stuff this week.

Yes But Nau 2010 - "C'est La Tournée Du Patron"

A crazy video of some crazy times at a discotheque called "Noir&Blanc" somewhere in the middle of nowhere around Le Pouliguen, near Nantes in France.

Oh, we had some good times last weekend at Yes But Nau 2010.

Only too bad the 'patron' didn't give a 'tournée génerale' (free drinks for everybody)...

The Road to Worlds - Part 2

Waw, here's something rather interesting: the first poule for Mooncatchers at the WUCC (World Ultimate Club Championships) 2010 in Prague starting the 3d of July :

Mooncatchers seeded 37 out of 48.
There could be some more changes but for now this is how the poule looks like :

1. Buzz Bullets (the best Japanese)
2. Karhukopla (the best Finnish team)
3. Freespeed (Switzerland)
4. Loquitos (the 3d biggest Japanese team)
5. Mooncatchers
6. LOL (Hungary)

The defnitive schedule will be sent out on June 15th.
Man, it would be cool to play those "faster-than-Usain Bolt-Japanese-mini-men"

If i have any info on the XLR8RS poule in mixed division you'll find out right here !
Keep on reading !

Comme Dieu en France....

An amazing FüF team with an even amazing (short and temporary) comeback by Heinzzz won the Spirit of the Game award at Yes But Nau 2010.
Triips, with amongst others the 3 belgians Wouter (Gentle) and Joeri and Johnny (Schijnwerpers) couldn't keep their title from last year but took second place after an intensive final against Freezbitch (mostly French juniors with fabulous technique, endurance and layouts).
More pics and results coming. (with a.o. XLR8RS,Mooncatchers,Freezzzbeezzz,Scandisc)
What a weekend !
ps: if you have any pics or info on Talampaya and BUM please email me !

The Road To Worlds - Part 1

This is a story of pick-up player in Brussels.
Hometeam Gentle in my heart, but ultimate on my mind.
I couldn't let an opportunity like a World Championship in Prague pass me by.
Life is about seizing opportunities, and this is one of them.
After sending around a bunch of emails asking for directions and so on, and after an interesting train ride to my very first Moon practice, last night I found myself in Brussels.
Capital of Belgium, unofficial capital of Europe, and home to a bunch of talented young ultimate players who call themselves Mooncatchers.
Right now I am part of this team that's going on an adventure.
Attending a world championship as a "small" belgian team in open division is going to be hard, but I'm glad to be part of this sensation.
It was a connection that seemed logic to both sides.
We've had a history of playing intense, challenging battles but we also played some fun hat tourneys together and have always had our share of fun and laughing together.
This resulted in me wanting to play with Moon at this WUCC (World Ultimate Club Championships) as much as they wanted me to play with them.
And so the journey started.

I'll be posting some info on how we're doing right here.
I hope you're as excited as we are that two belgian teams will be representing our national honours at Worlds (Moon in open and XLR8RS in mixed division)
We should be proud.

G-Spot report coming any day now.

Random Pictures - Tom's Tourney 2010

What started out as something like a walkover turned out to be a final worthy of the name final.
A 4-0 start by Cobra Kai almost ended with the London boys scoring the final point 11-9, but when the score was 10-9 for Cobra, Freespeed did what they had to do and tied the game at 10-10 to go on into the cap to 12.
Unfortunately for Freespeed, second time 2nd, Cobra Kai didn't crack under the comeback pressure by the brave Swiss and ended the game at 12-10.
While trying to keep warm in pretty cold conditions (it could have been much worse, so no worries, it wasn't raining anymore !) we saw an open final that says much about the level at Tom's Tourney.
It's one of the biggest grass tournaments in Europe and the level is adapting.
A lot of teams who focus on this tourney every year like to come back for it's unique vibe and flawless organisation.
Thanks to the whole crew and see you next year !

Pictures by Raf (Schijnwerpers) and somebody else (Facebook, I don't remember for now..)
Keep 'em flying and till the next time around.
More stuff coming.

Tourney Report: Tom's Daily # 1

It's been fun, it's been cold, it's been good, it's been wet.
It was a weekend with a typical belgian wheather but that didn't stop about 560 players of playing the game we like at a tournament we like even more.
Congratulations to Copenhagen (Danmark;winners women's division), Blue Arse Flies (UK;second victory in a row in 2nd open division) and of course Cobra Kai (UK;winners in 1st division); but also a real big thumbs up to Schijnwerpers (Belgium,Spirit Award in 2nd division), Gentle (Belgium;Spirit in 1st div) and Little Miss Sunshine (Ireland;Spirit in Women's div)
Here's some impressions as written by the crew from "Tom's Daily", a mini magazine covering the very best and interesting things of Tom's Tourney, live on and around the fields.
If you weren't there, or for those of you who missed this: here's there first edition of friday morning.(Click on image for a bigger view or go to the direct link as seen below the pics)

Pictures and more impressions coming in somewhere this week.
Keep on reading/playing !
PS Really proud to have won the Spirit of the Game award... (twice in 3 years that is !)(and two belgian teams out of 3 SOTG awards, yeah !)
