Slijpschijven Indoor Champions !

This weekend we saw one of the most exciting indoor days ever to be held on Belgian soil.

5 teams made it to Play-Offs in the Belgian Ultimate Indoor Championship but only one could be the strongest and this year it is Slijpschijven who get to be called champions for another 363 days !!

Congratulations to the boys from Aalter !

They managed to beat Mooncatchers with one point difference which eventually made them come out on top in something that can be called a 'wins-losses-points-triangles-squares-extravaganza'

All teams had big chances of winning the title but for Mooncatchers,Gentle,Freezzzbeezzz and Diabolic Heaven it turned out to be a whole lot different.

I haven't seen this many excitement in the sports centre in Uccle for a long time, if ever...., but it was one hell of a play-off day to be part of. Three teams had the championship in reach by only one point but neither Gentle or Mooncatchers could hold it together and so Slijpschijven are INDOOR KINGS OF 2011.

There had been some thriller games with universe points that could decide over some other team's championship and I know everybody who was there loved the excitement and intensity of all these games.

It's actually safe to say that all 5 teams were amazing and the level of play was really high as well.

This shows that the general level in Belgium is rising once again and more teams are capable of making it to the top of this indoor game.

A big personal dissapointment, since Gentle lost the championship by losing to Freezzzbeezzz with one point, giving away an 8-5 lead to a team that had nothing to lose, nor to win, but a great day for Slijpschijven and the general level of play in Belgium.

Proud to be a part of this, proud of the Oaltere boys, and most of all : proud to play ultimate.
